Clinical chemistry (sometimes referred to as chemical pathology, clinical biochemistry, or medical biochemistry) is a branch of chemistry that deals with the examination of body fluids for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. It is a type of biochemistry that is employed in practise. The biochemical analysis of body fluids is referred to as clinical chemistry. It determines the amounts of various chemical components in physiological fluids through chemical processes. Different molecules in blood and urine, the most often examined specimens in clinical chemistry, are detected and quantified using a variety of simple chemical tests.
