This Event is contributing to the further improvement of global chemistry in its very broad scope of fields, trends and applications, including canonical organic, physical and inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry and associated drug discovery, polymer chemistry, surface chemistry and even quantum chemistry describing the motion and interaction of subatomic particles in atoms and molecules. One of the key features of the Conference is to exchange breakthrough ideas in the field of biocatalysis and chemical engineering to promote top level research by focusing on the recent trends. Chemistry is everywhere. From designing new nanoparticles that can treat COVID-19 to improved solar panels for alternative energy, chemistry has been solving old problems for centuries and is well positioned to conquer our latest problems from the environment to medicine. Chemistry has provided wonderful fascinating materials from bucky balls (C60) to drugs that kill cancer.  I am pleased to welcome everyone to the 3rd Edition of the Chemistry World Conference in Rome.  As a diverse conference focused in chemistry, it is destined to spark conversations, scientific debate, and new ideas for some of our most persistent problems in society.  I am positive new chemistries and materials will be presented for the first time, and you don’t want to miss it. As a multidisciplinary conference, all scientists will find a forum for their research and be able to generate new ideas and find new materials to solve your specific problems. At a time when we continue to emerge from COVID, I strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of this conference where we must make up for lost time.

Chemistry World Conference | June 14-15, 2023 | Online

It is a great honor for me to address you with a brief greeting, in which I would like to emphasize the special role of catalysis for chemistry as a science in general, and for many biological processes occurring under the action of biocatalysts – enzymes. In the time being, the role of catalysis in human activity has been significantly increasing due to the purposeful search and creation of highly active and selective catalysts that can effectively solve the economic and environmental problems of chemical processes. However, the possibilities of catalysis are far from being exhausted, since Nature has created unique biocatalysts that, in environmental conditions, are capable of carrying out processes that cannot yet be implemented on an industrial scale. In my opinion, a qualitative shift to a new paradigm of the science of catalysis can be achieved if we direct our efforts to create "man-made" irreversible catalytic processes operating in thermodynamically non-equilibrium conditions characteristic of all biological processes.
I wish productive work to the conference participants and new scientific contacts for the sustainable progress of Chemistry.

For long, I have marveled at the thought that Mendeleev formulated the periodic table before the discovery of the electron and the knowledge of quantum mechanics. Although the periodic table is the mother of all materials, it is limited in the sense that the number of naturally elements as well as their chemistry is fixed by their outer electron configuration. Fortunately, the realization that at the nanoscale the properties of matter can be very different from their bulk and that the properties of clusters, the ultimate nanoparticles, can be fundamentally altered by the addition of a single atom, has given rise to new opportunities for materials science. By controlling the size, shape, and composition of nano-clusters, it is now possible to create materials with unprecedented properties, hitherto unknown in the nature. For example, gold, a noble metal in the bulk, can be reactive at the nanoscale and in small clusters can behave like a hydrogen atom as well as a halogen atom. The field of superatomic chemistry is an uncharted territory and I look forward to exciting discoveries.

I am excited to welcome, exchange ideas and create collaborations with the esteemed delegates of Chemistry World 2022 assembling in Rome.  I feel honored and privileged to write a message to our colleagues before the chemistry world 2022 meet.  Clearly, fundamental research in Chemistry has revolutionized the world. When we look back the history of past 100 years, we find that chemistry has played tantalizing and leading role in industrial development and, more particularly, in improving the quality of life of people in society through drug discoveries. Today, the chemistry and human life is more connected than before.  We have begun to learn of the formation and functions of living cells including genes based on molecular structures and chemical principles. The world is faced with the unprecedented challenges of new diseases especially fast spreading and deadly variants of Covid -19 pandemic posing risk to life and issue of climate change and global warming threatening the humanity on the mother earth. The knowledge of chemistry together with other natural sciences is set to meet these challenges and contribute significantly to save humanity.  I am particularly excited over our expanding deeper knowledge at molecular level the living biological entities and chemical basis of creation of life.  Growing areas of Biotechnology are playing unparallel role in developing new technologies and devices and contributions of chemistry knowledge is undisputedly central to progress of newer technologies for sustainable developments for making a better world

Dear congress visitors, it is an honor and pleasure to welcome you at the Chemistry World Conference 2021. Climate changes and environmental problems force chemists to change perspective on industrial development. Being “green” does not merely imply to assess efficient purification treatments of polluted effluents or to reduce the environmental impact of production processes. In fact, “green chemistry” is rather an ethical approach which induces us to design molecules, materials, products and processes in a resource-efficient (both in terms of mass and energy) and safer way for humans and the environment. The industrial implementation of this concept will be reality when the novel “green” processes will be competitive towards the traditional ones in terms of efficiency and yield. Our efforts recently produced admirable results in this regard, and in some cases the existence of traditional and still operating plants seems to be the only reason hindering the implementation of novel and “greener” systems. However, we still have a long way to go. In particular, I wish stronger collaboration between Academia and Industry and interdisciplinary approaches across different research fields. This is the only way to solve the complex challenges of our future.

Natural substances play major roles as molecule signals as well as molecules involved in defense mechanisms during intra- and interspecific interactions. Chemical interactions are of great interest in different fundamental and applied fields, i.e.,
-    biodiversity protection,

-    plants, macro- and microorganisms (fungi, bacteria...) as potential resources for human health and nutrition,
-    Potential impacts of natural substances on human health, chemical ecology, ecosystem processes…

Since many years research involves in finding bioactive natural compounds from plants, macro- and microorganisms (extraction process, purification of extracts, identification of primary and secondary metabolites, assays; chemical and biological screening of natural substances materials).

Today, analytical tools have been developed to explore chemo-diversity as a whole but also to study previously unexplored resources or re-study minority compounds of some resources. This renewal in the natural substances chemistry opens the door to a new air in the search for compounds of interests.

Dear visitors of the Chemistry 2020 conference, it is an honor and a pleasure to write some welcome notes. The rapid development of analytical and instrumentation techniques has allowed great progress in our understanding of the chemistry and function of nutritional components.

Among the phytochemicals, Betainized Compounds are a group of low molecular weight compounds, derived from amino acids and imino acids in which the nitrogen atom is fully methylated.

In plants, these substances tend to accumulate in the cytoplasm and intercellular fluids in which they exert protective functions on the structures of proteins, nucleic acids and cell membranes in response to abiotic stress.

Plants express characteristic patterns and betainized compounds levels based on their species.

Some betaines are of particular interest in the human diet for maintaining health. For example, Glycine betaine has the biological role of the methyl donor in man for the formation of methionine from homocysteine thus counteracting the accumulation of homocysteine in plasma, which constitutes a risk factor for diseases.

Recently, a group of betainized compounds have been suggested to play a role in health effects in relation to a vegetable and fruit consumption or Mediterranean diet.

The content of betainized compounds appears to be species specific and can help to characterize vegetable sources and their derivatives, such as fruit juices.

Dear congress visitors, it is an honor and pleasure to write a few welcome notes. In the ‘Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery’ session we will discuss the new developments in the modern drug discovery process. This process relies heavily on computational methods, in comparison to ‘old school’ methods where the ‘try and error’ dominated. The modern drug discovery processed are based on rational drug design, which is the inventive process of finding new medications based on the available experimental data and molecular modelling techniques. Computer-aided drug discovery (CADD) allows application of computer modelling techniques to the drug design process and is involved in almost every aspect of drug discovery and design today. This includes, but is not limited to the validation of druggable targets, virtual screening, the optimization of lead compounds, characterizing of protein-water-ligand and protein-protein interactions, providing estimates of binding affinities, determining ligand energies and bioactive conformations, refinement of molecular geometries, scoring docked protein–ligand poses, structure–activity-relationship (SAR) analysis and ADMET prediction. This is largely a consequence of significant improvements in computing power/speed, which has led to advances in algorithm development and new applications of CADD methods.
